Hurling pictured on a Dust Jacket

Yesterday I asked for a guess. The sport depicted on this book is hurling. Now I know that some of you will recall that something very different was called hurling years ago. But this is a sport.

The book, The Last lap is a Benziger Brothers' book published in 1925. On the front of the jacket a number of boys playing a game that is reminiscent of field hockey. But on the back of the book the sport is called hurling and the rules are given.

Hurling is stilled played in Ireland reflecting the Gaelic origin. See:

It is my opinion that this is the only series book that pictures this sport on its dust jacket illustration.
